Stolen: Flaky Buttermilk Biscuits
I am posting this recipe purely out of spite…
I will not name names, but a business has done me wrong by charging me out the wazoo for a breakfast sandwich. I found their hidden recipe online from a news segment they did a little before COVID, and it is just as remarkable. I tried it, I loved it, now it's your turn!
Ingredients:
2 cups of flour
1 tablespoon of baking powder
1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
1/4 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of sugar
1 stick of frozen butter (½ cup)
1 cup of buttermilk
Directions:
1. Combine all of your dry ingredients together in a bowl
2. Grate frozen butter into dry mix and then add buttermilk
3. Mix together gently and then transfer formed dough to a work surface
4. Flatten dough out, fold dough over a few times and after you have achieved about one inch to one and 1/2 inch dough thickness, it's time to cut your biscuits!
5. Take a biscuit cutter or a small cup (if biscuit cutter not available) and begin cutting your biscuits
6. Refold and cut again as needed.
7. Bake biscuits on a parchment lined baking sheet for 20-22 mins at 395 degrees
You are extremely welcome!
