What I’m Reading, Watching, and Eating This Week
As I’m writing this, I am steaming some mixed vegetables for the week and still in shock that we are in May. I know they say that time flies when you’re having fun, but I am NOT having fun!
This week is my last week of finals and I’m not completely sure what I’m going to do with myself until the summer semester begins. I have a few ideas like committing more to my hobbies, or even just burrowing my head into my academic research and solidifying a new section of my proposal.
I feel really good about gradually taking things off my plate like my jewelry store and one of my side jobs. But somehow I sort of feel like “ok.. What do I do with myself?”. I'm sure the feeling will pass the longer I sit with it, so I'm not too concerned.
Let’s first talk about what I’m reading this week:
Make Me by Tessa Bailey.
I am at the tail end of this book. It’s cute, quirky, and written from a neutral POV so you can really get into understanding both main characters thoroughly. A bit of a twist in romance because usually the guy is the one with all of the money. There are some spicy moments sprinkled in, but they aren't overwhelming or distracting from the true yearning and desperation for connection among the main characters.
I got this book as a fun read and have zero regrets!
Here’s what I’m watching:
Horrible Bosses 1 and 2
I pressed play on Horrible Bosses on a whim when I saw my crush Jason Bateman in the preview. This movie was HILARIOUS! Like I genuinely do not laugh out loud at movies and I was cackling all throughout this series. When I wrapped up the first one and saw the second was on Hulu, I was elated to find out that the second one was even better than the first one. That is such a rare occurrence right now in movies. These movies are a must watch for if you want something a little different from your usual comfort show.
Heres what I’m eating:
Breakfast is always a protein smoothie with ripe bananas, grapefruit, ginger, flax seeds, and almond milk.
Monday: Steamed vegetables and lemon crusted tilapia
Tuesday: Grilled chicken salad
Wednesday: Shrimp fried rice and sauteed broccoli in onions
Thursday: Spicy tilapia tacos on blue corn chip taco shells
Friday: Sweet and sour chicken breast over white rice
I usually eat fruits around my large meal a day and in the middle of the week, I schedule a date night so my dinner rotation gets shifted back by a day. This week’s date night is with a new guy, let’s hope he picks a good Italian place with a view.
That is all from me this week! I contemplated writing a post about tariffs for the Finance Frank section of my blog, but I think the subject depresses me too much. We’ll see if I can find it in me to change my mind.
Fran.
